Ebtissam's journey began with a passion for freedom and a love for challenges. Starting with indoor sports like swimming and kickboxing, her interest shifted to cycling in 2008 after witnessing cyclists on the streets of Cairo. Her dedication and skill quickly led to significant achievements, including the first African Gold medal in Egypt in cycling and qualifying for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Despite breaking her collarbone during training, Ebtissam's commitment saw her return to the sport within days, illustrating her unwavering determination.
Ebtissam has represented Egypt in two consecutive Olympic Games and is preparing for her third in Paris. Her perseverance, success and commitment to cycling has been instrumental in establishing Egypt's first cycling track too. Beyond her national accomplishments, Ebtissam rides for the Dubai Police cycling team, proudly representing both Egypt and the UAE. Her journey from the streets of Cairo to the global stage continues to inspire many, highlighting the power of inner strength and dedication.
