The self-starter Prakriti Varshney, standing taller than doubt

Not every summit is made of stone. For Prakriti Varshney, the climb began in classrooms where ridicule cut deep. From those moments of doubt, she built resilience, carved her own path in Manali, crowdfunded her Everest dream, and rose to summit the world’s highest peak.

Rising with resilience

Prakriti’s path was not defined by early labels and doubts but by her determination to rise above them. Bullied in her school years for her height, she found her strength in the outdoors, where the trails tested her resolve. She left home for Manali at 20, and with limited means, she turned to her community to crowdfund her Everest dream- raising over Rupees 11 lakhs through Instagram. Her successful ascent was a testament to grit, purpose, and the will to prove “I can”.

From “you can’t” to the world’s highest peak

In 2022, Prakriti broke barriers not only in her climb but also in nutrition and belief. Her triumph was more than personal, it was a symbol of possibility, a win for every girl who has been underestimated. Today, she continues to inspire countless young Indians, especially women, to believe that true strength comes from conviction, and that every mountain, real or imaginary, can be climbed with grit and spirit.
