Amr is a banking veteran with over 24 years of experience in global and leading regional banks, spanning Cairo, London, and Dubai. Throughout his career, he has managed, planned, and executed numerous strategic and transformative business projects. Amr has served as the CEO of Mashreq Egypt since May 2018. Prior to joining Mashreq Egypt, he held several senior leadership roles, including Regional Head of Client Network Banking, Business Development & Propositions at HSBC Middle East (covering MENA and Turkey), Head of Large Corporate Banking at HSBC Egypt, and Head of Public Sector and Financial Institutions at Citi Egypt. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Concordia University in Montreal and an MBA with a specialization in Finance from Maastricht School of Management. Additionally, Amr has completed multiple senior executive programs focused on strategy execution and digital transformation at Harvard Business School, London Business School, and INSEAD.
