Nomination facilitates settlement of claims in the event of the unfortunate death of the life assured in favour of the nominee. The name of the nominee should be clearly mentioned in the Proposal/Application Form.
An assignment has the effect of transferring right, title and interest of the policy in favour of another person or institution out of natural love and affection or for valuable consideration or against liabilities or facilities from a bank.
After the expiry of the policy period, the amount payable on the date of maturity is called a Maturity Claim/ Proceeds.
Death of the life assured should be intimated to the respective bank branch or channel where the policy was taken along with original/certified death certificate. Depending on the terms and conditions of the policy, the beneficiary as recorded in the policy document may be asked to submit additional forms and certificates if required.
A period of 30 days is provided as a grace period allowing you to pay any missed premium. If the payment has been made after that period, the policy will lapse and the plan will terminate. The grace period may differ from Insurer to Insurer or type of plan.
