Fraudsters are becoming more sophisticated, but you can stay ahead by following these simple tips. Common fraud risks to watch out for:
Phishing scams – Never click on suspicious links or share your banking details via email, SMS, or phone. Mashreq will never ask for your OTP, PIN, soft token, username or passwords.
Impersonation calls – Fraudsters may pose as bank representatives or law enforcement officials. If in doubt, hang up and contact us directly.
Unauthorized Transactions – Regularly monitor your bank statements and mobile app/ SMS notifications. Report any suspicious activity immediately.
Fake banking apps & websites – Always use our official apps and website. Do not download banking apps from unofficial sources.
Social engineering attacks – Be cautious of unexpected messages or calls urging you to act quickly, such as urgent fund transfers or security verifications. Always hang up and call the person back and always check the identity of the person you are transferring to.
